Inbox for Jira is an addon to Jira that adds an icon that looks like a bell on the upper right hand side, clicking the icon will open a menu that displays notifications that has occurred and that are of interest for the Jira user. Here follows simple guide on how to translate Inbox for Jira translation

Translations are can only be done by people invited by the Inbox for Jira team. Send us an email to support@rixter.se if you are up for helping out with translations. 

Following keys / keys starting with should not be translated:

  • my.plugin.name
  • inbox-web-section

HTML tags

Html tags should not be translated. HTML tags are anything that starts with < and ends with />, such as <p/> 

Text

Please see "Jira lingo" section for words that are chosen by Atlassian Jira and should not be changed.



Translations for the menu

Translating the main menu.  The main menu consists of various sections. 

  • Main menu
  • Menu card verb
  • Sub menu

The main menu

The drop down having the text "INBOX FOR JIRA" is the main menu. 

Translations for this part should be pretty straight forward. 

Menu card verb

Pay attention to the menu card and specifically the keys starting with ifj.card.verb those keys builds up the sentence shown on the notifications. (See image below) Example from the image below. 


Words within brackets {..} represents users or data objects that are programatically rendered. Never translate those words.


Example:

key: ifj.card.verb.commented 

text: {actor} {others} <b>commented</b> on {issue}

word to translate: commented

Will show as "Steven Gator commented on INBOX-3 Find trails of error in the compon..." in the image below. 

The sub menu

The "sub menu" is the popup menu that starts with "Remove/Remove this notification" in the image below.

Sub menu text keys starts with: ifj.menu.submenu no special things here.


Translations for settings page

All text snipplets for settings pages starts with ifj.settings.user or ifj.settings.global no special things here.


Jira lingo

Following words are in use  Atlassian Jira and should remain the same for the Inbox for Jira translation to avoid confusion. (even if they are strange)
